After finsihing delivering with Steve Davis on Detroit and Madison, Ken gave me a call to see if I was up to delivering. We chose the eastside of town as this is quickly becoming one of the areas I like walking in the most and Ken agreed. The streets are alive and the people friendly.
At 7:30 we stopped for ice cream on Hopkins and Madison, while Ken opted for the Super Banana Split, I settled for a medium twist. We pulled up a table next to a father and two kids and had fun talking about the neighborhood. His youngest was handling a big cone for the first time. Hands, face, hair and table were covered.
By 9:48 we had worked our way from Clifton and Beach to Birdtown, covering a great majority of Ward 4.
Boy I love the people in this town.
Thanks to all that have made this possible. Both the Observer and the city.
