The Status Of The Lights

Post by Jim DeVito »

Does anybody know the status of LED lighting in Lakewood. What a big step forward we could all take if Lakewood was saving that kind of power!

Ann Arbor May Be The First...

From the above site.
When Ann Arbor reaches its ambitious goal, city officials expect to see energy use for public lighting cut in half and a reduction of 2,425 tons CO2 annually. The city also expects a short payback of 3.8 years on its investment

Having gone to Michigan, I'm not surprised. Ann Arbor is an awesome town. ;)

It will be interesting to see the results of Ann Arbor's lighting. One of the problems with LED lighting outdoors in the winter is that it throws off less heat so lights tend to freeze over and the drivers cannot see them. Hopefully this bug has been resolved
