Garfield Concert TONIGHT!

Hello everyone,

Please be advised that tonight's the first concert for the new Garfield Middle School at 7:30pm in the Lakewood Civic Auditorium!

Among other wonderful features this evening, the school's new "Garfield March", (written by my dad, Robert R. Rice, with lyrics by me) will be debuted. Dad has been invited to conduct the march. Robert Rice is a retired Lakewood band director, and had also written "The Harding March" for our other great middle school.

Why not join the new Garfield family tonight for an evening of great music?

Please check the Lakewood Schools website for notice of the other fantastic concerts to be held for this season!

What a great night! And your Garfield march song - FANTASTIC!!!!

Thank you (and your dad) so much for that in this our inaugural year. My son plays in the 6th grade band.

It was a great night. And what a pleasure watching your dad lead the band. I was sitting next to a neighbor of mine who had your dad as a band instructor back in the day. Really great.

The students, staff, and administration of Garfield Middle School really put together an outstanding effort this evening! It was an honor for Dad and I to have a part in the evening's events!

Let's hear it for music and the arts, as well as the other academic and vocational subjects; and sports, too!

Lakewood schools are truly fantastic!
