Has this board been fair and balanced when it comes to the mayor's race this year?

I don't think the LO is trying to be Fox News.

Why would an open discussion board be fair and balanced?

Was "fair and balanced" the goal?

I thought the idea was to just throw it out to citizen journalism and see what happens.

I don't know that news has ever been "fair and balanced". But I'm fine with having it be a realistic representation of the thoughts and feelings of the people of the community.

as long as everyone has a reasonable opportunity to put forth their opinion, then what's the problem?

Life isn't "fair and balanced" so why should the Lakewood Observer be?

It is more of a perception question. I am just curious how others on this board have perceived some of the post over the last week.

Why does the board need to be fair and balanced? It's a discussion forum where people are able to discuss and post what they like. It's not up to the LO to police the forum and enforce what can be said.
