Close in a strange way. But I can make a connection from this.

In Lakewood, think.

Not New York or LA.

Barbara Streisand

She would sing there at the age of 15. Mike Douglas of the Mike Douglas Show used to be a patron. I believe he was living on the new Gold Coast at the time. Saw her sing, booked her on TV, after her second visit, she went to the Merv Griffen Show then the Tonight Show. the rest is history.

Closest I remember Alice Cooper would be Cyrus Erie West where he was a regular along with Ted Nugent, The Detroit Wheels, later Detroit, Bob Seeger, and others.

FWIW
