How about a Midol???

Thanks for exploiting a thread for political gain

Have you no respect at all for our safety forces?

We bowed our heads in recognition of 4 Lakewood firefighters who were killed on the job and for those in New York City.

Couldn't you have at least spared 45 minutes to show some respect?

Have you EVER shown up at these so simple, but so, very essential recognitions?

And once again you have found the most insulting and taseteless way to do it.

At least your consistent.

Personally I think this is a little insulting, but in all fairness, both sides have shown moments of insult and distaste on the Deck this election season. I could point out multiple examples from both candidate's supporters.

I hate to harken back to this, but I wish all campaigns could have been waged in a respectful, positive way like the Ward 3 council race. I think we all win when candidate's and their supporters focus on what that candidate will do to improve Lakewood rather than what the other candidate is not doing.

Ummm...

Am I missing something here?

In a way, its kinda like "Alice and the looking glass" here to me....

We have a sensitive, respectful ceremony today. The Mayor shows and contributes. The Councilman does not.

That point was made....

Then the Councilman explained his side.

Yet now, someone speaks of "Exploiting a thread for political GAIN?"

WHICH thread, exactly?

Seems to me like things may have got turned around a bit, but I may be wrong...

There's a sad thing about politics. Here we have two qualified guys filled with conviction and principle, and the people on the sidelines just can't seem to wait until one or the other proverbially slips and falls.

It's like watching a Roman gladiator match.

Both fascinating and revolting.

I wish we could come up with a better way to do this political thing.

Here in Lakewood, there are only two people who can control the Mayor's race: Tom and Ed.

I hope they'll both think about this from a positive perspective, and help the rest of us bring this discourse forward, and then, to the level that it belongs on.

I think Stephen has clearly communicated that anything that might be connected to the female gender is a horrible insult.

Whether Stan or anyone took pictures or wrote about the event in previous years, having attended in the past, as I attended this year, I know which of our public servants were there.

One of those icky females, Nickie Antonio was there (again).

I posted my pictures and my sad little accounting of the event because, like some of Lakewood's ceremonial events, I find it moving. And meaningful. And I think it's nice if the community supports the men and women who look after us. Silly me.

But then, I'm one of those females that Stephen may disregard and disrespect in whatever clever little ways he chooses.

I think Stephen just got his medications mixed up.

He obviously meant to say he needed an Imodium:
