Favorite Five Mom and Pop Eateries in Lakewood

Post by Justine Cooper »

OK The politics are getting everyone riled up or feeling down. What are your favorite 3 or 5 eateries in Lakewood?

For me, for price, service, and good food, not in any order:
1. Coffee Pot on Madison with new owner-the best homefries ever and great meals!
2. Joe's Deli for great sandwiches and soup and breakfast!
3. Tina's Deli-great breakfast and chicken salad!!!!
4. La Pita of course! The BEST Lebanese food I ever tasted, starting with their big stuffed grape leaves, the most tender flavorful beef for the shawrmas, and falfell's and kebees to die for!!!!

All are family owned, friendly warm service, and the BEST food for the money! Who is your favorite around here and why. Cute waitresses don't count JOB.

Maria's - spaghetti and pizza to die for.

The Shore - The whole family is so lovable and friendly

Golden Dragon (I thing that's the name) right where Hilliard splits off from Madison - My daughter's vegan and I love their won ton soup - so we agreed to go their for her birthday - also the decor is so darn funky!

The Diner (once again I can't remember the whole name) that's on Detroit that looks like an old time diner - just because it is an old time diner.

  • Maria's
  • Melt
  • The Souper Market
  • The Diner on Clifton (I know it's not really in Lakewood, but I like it!)
  • 3 Birds

:? My brain is discombobulated. I love all these places. Waitresses have no effect on me except to buy more. Why is that?

I can't possibly stick to five. Maybe five of my favorites from the past week:

1) Shore Restaurant
2) Players
3) Rush Inn
4) Sullivan's (Rhonda - try the Guiness wings on Tuesdays)
5) La Pita Express

We don't eat out that often, since I work many nights.

Maria's would definitely be my favorite.

1. Angelo's
2. Sullivan's (also very convenient since I am one house down from it :) )
3. Souper market
4. The Melt
5. Maria's

I have heard about many others mentioned and just need to get out to them! Also, I should know this... but where are the following places?

- The Shore
- India Garden
- Tina's Deli

((I am drawing a blank right now))
