We lost another good one. Sarah Lemmer you will be missed
I am sorry to say that Lakewood has lost another good one.
Sarah Lemmer, "Sarah" from "The Place Yo Be" passed away t day from cancer.
She was very good at service, much better at bustin some chops. More than once with a client or friend she did not know with me, she would look at me and say, "You certainly don't need the french fires." Sometimes we would get three four tables going, and she was always a great sport and usually got us back one way or another.
Sarah, you were loved by many, and you will be missed.

I run early in the morning. One of my regular routes is down Warren, past The Place to Be. Many times my passing at Detroit and Warren would coincide with Sarah, having come from Brook Park to open that Place To Be and getting things fired up here in Lakewood.
We would exchange hello's, comment on the weather, and she would critique my stride.
But, I got to know her in the afternoon--- asking for a "gyros platter to go with no sauce!!!"--- You can hear her voice if you knew her. She ran the show there. Otherwise, how would my regular order not be recognized?
Now let's figure--- I saw her at 4 in the morning setting up, and at 4 in the afternoon taking orders.
Good Bye Sarah

How sad! I just happen to read the pdf version of the LO yesterday and read the nice article written about her. I don't know Sarah, if fact, I've never even been to that restaurant, but I am a lymphoma survivor so her story touched me. Sometimes I don't realize how lucky I am to have beaten the disease when others can't. God bless the family!

Sarah was a beautiful person. Her kids and grandkids really depended on her and she must have worked nearly up to the end.
I really love going to old fashioned diners and eating at lunch counters. Sarah was always good company. She poured me a lot of coffee over the last 26 years.
I will miss her a lot.
