What a fun day in Lakewood!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Yesterday was one of my favorite events every year. The Citizens Committee for a Lakewood Animal Shelter (CCLAS) Doggie Swim.

I was sitting in a meeting when an Observer called me and asked where I was. Told the group, "Sorry have to go..."

I was not disappointed.

Thanks to everyone at CCLAS for their effort and thanks to all the dog owners that took part.

It was a great event as usual! I think the bull dog was the funniest. This dog can best be described as a chunk - I was sure he would sink immediately. His parents outfitted him in a flotation vest and he swam (albeit slowly) out to fetch his toy. I couldn't believe my eyes!

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the event and for all those who signed the petition to save the dog park! Will post updates on the lawsuit as soon as they are available!
