Sharon,
The Pepto Bismol house is my mother and father's. My grandmother bought it for them, some years ago, well most of it, and they've never been able to afford to have the house painted other than parts at a time.
I am quite sure, if someone were to cover the expenses of the paint and the labor, as well as other repairs, they would be excited to have the house painted another color fitting the surrounding houses. First a new roof is in order though. The medical expenses both of them have incurred, have precluded this from being done. Again, same situation. Maybe then it would not offend you.

I did not say it offended me, just that it was an odd color.
Actually, my favorite Lakewood house used to be that big house that was lavender on W. 117th.

They may qualify for the Operation Paintbrush program and then the paint and labor is free. The city offers quite a bit of help for low income home owners. http://tinyurl.com/2q8xgq

We just had our home repainted by a GREAT team of guys, and a Lakewood business, to boot. We absolutely LOVE Straitline Painters. They did our home, the one next door, one up the street, a porch across the street and I think they're going to do several homes down the street this Fall.
Price, (and we had a number of other bids) was TRULY righteous, plus they use Sherwin Williams (another Lakewood business) paints.
Operation Paintbrush is the Lakewood low/moderate assistance program that can assist people with their painting. They also have a list of painters that they have had success with.
By the way, while many prefer two or three tone pastels as being tasteful these days, remember that many cultures find beauty in primary colors. As well, if you go to Colonial or Victorian days history, you will find extensive use of primary colors. Pink, remember, is not a primary color and a few years ago was a highly fashionable statement for a home or a car.
It presently seems to be a HIGHLY fashionable and popular clothing color.

Bill's nearly finished with the windows, the glazing has aged to perfection, but I'm not sure where we hid the paint.Glenn Palmer wrote:Thanks DL …..You guys have been conspicuous in your absence
We've nearly completed one garage project and I'm starting another one (the garage that actually belongs to us) this weekend.
But never fear, we love projects and now we've trained the car to point west.
Mark-
You don't have the only pink house in Lakewood!
Also, as Gary mentioned, Operation Paintbrush is a great program and the Division of Community Development offers a number of programs that might be of assistance. Please give them a call and see if there's anything that would fit your situation.
They're great people, doing a wonderful job. (216) 529-HOME (4663)
