I think someone should contact Hot Rod magazine and invite a few clubs etc.
This show was just too cool for words. Peterson Publications might be willing to jump in on it, or some of the other biggies. What about O.C.C. too.

We had four major magazines covering this year's event, and the word is traveling quickly!
Today at 8:00am we started officially planning next year's event, which will be enlarged.
We currently get clubs from Detroit, Indy, Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland and Erie that I know of. Calls have been coming in to Jerry and myself all morning. I believe we have next year's sponsor already title sponsor.
One of the best parts of the Lakewood Observer is working with so many new groups that have big plans for Lakewood. They really want to take the city to the next level. We have been able to get them working together on a level that is pretty sweet.
This fall we will see "Lakewood Is Art" work with MAMA on an Art Walk, and their new "Miracle on Madison" which should help redefine Madison and the retail center of Lakewood.
DADA which has some large announcements coming as well will be working with Pride of Cleveland on a Scooter show/swap meet with national attention.
If this city is ready for fun, than the LO is ready to work and do what it takes to make it happen.
Hold on! 2008, will be a blast.

Ruthie and Jerry Koenigsmark are the heart and soul of this event, I do think we have built a good team for the past four years. Work has started on next year. We are also working on some other uniqe Lakewood events that will remain secret right now, but should also put Lakewood on the national map in completely different ways.
Mayor's Choice Winner was the John Grabski's 1966 Mercury Comet.

Jim, consider contacting Autoweek (subscriber since 80). Get interest from them for next year. Get them to cover it next year. Maybe you could get people to start showing up with some classic sports cars. Who knows, maybe someone would show up with an old 962.
Contact some of your old S.C.C.A buddy's and have them bring some stuff like old FF's, FA's, GT1 vette's (for the hot rodders), bathtub Porsche's, and so on. Then you could set up hay bails thru Birdtown and have small autocross type event. Maybe you could start your own Goodwood Festival of Speed type of an event thru Birdtown. Aw, never mind...
Ivor has a very nice shot of a guitar player. Not the Uncle Scratch guy. Who was that? Was he part of the show?

Thanks for the help, but I believe we have a pretty good publication to work with. I think the show and Jerry's connections are building a pretty good stir through the hot rod world.
Personally, I would love to blow it out Goodwood style. However we are pretty dedicated to keeping it in our niche. This year we added scooters and motorcycles, and ideas for next year look like fun.
We are very open to help and ideas.
The guitarist is St. Andrew. St. Andrew has been playing in bands since the 80s. At one time he was in a band with the members of Uncle Scratch called "Knife Dancer" I believe.
He is an incredible song writer, and has the subtly of Tom Waits playing through Blue Cheer's sound system. When i first heard Andrew I was at bela dubby trying to carry on a serious discussion with Ken. He had set his volume to music hall levels and was bothering me to death. Suddenly I noticed my foot keeping the beat and we stopped and listened. St. Andrew is something special, just like Uncle Scratch.
St. Andrew handles the business distribution of The Lakewood Observer, and is a solid part of the Observer family. We will get him to play another LO Function before the end of the year.
All rumors about an LO/Uncle Scratch Gospel Revival Christmas Show, are just that, rumors at this point.

Lakewood Car Kulture Show
Well, I've finally recovered from a very hectic few weeks. I want to thank everyone who came out to this years show, both car owners and spectators. I especially want to thank my wife Ruth who is the backbone of the event on the day of the show, and Jim for everything you do, I can not thank you enough. Thanks also to everyone ay city hall for your continued support of this event. We hope to make it bigger every year, and something that Lakewood can be proud of.
Also thanks to the police, city workers, friends that helped the day of the event, business owners, vendors, bands, sound guys, Cox Communication, Jak Prints, George Kubas, VooDoo Monkey Tatoo, Lakewood Observer, Jerry's House of Kolor for donating the Peoples Choice award, and Damon for donating the Mayor's Choice award. I'm sure I probably missed a few.
I will continue to grow the show, while still keeping to it's original roots. I have some ideas on how to make it bigger and better.
