Just read it on the front page. 1660AM is the frequency, and will be used for emergency notification when needed as well as a information station when there isn't a emergency.

I like the idea. I remember during the hostage situation on Granger announcements came on to the PA system at LHS. No one knew what was going on, but a ton of students had little siblings in nearby schools and were confused why they couldn't come pick them up.

it's a step in the right direction.

Is this only for Emergency use or could we broadcast council meetings and other meetings on it?

As of right now it is for emergency use and is not slated for "public use."

However I have been working with Suzanne Metelko, on the TV part of broadcasting council meetings and I am sure by the time the new council takes it seat we can run council meetings live.

The Observer with Joe Buchta new head of our TV production, Mike Deneen and others are now looking at purchasing our own equipment with advice from some pros in the business. We actually started taping about a month ago, so that we could start figuring out the logistics and costs involved.

Congressman Kucinich assure me that after the look at the Federal Reserve and banking crisis, he would look at the freeze put on by the Bush Administration for new radio stations. As you might remember Mark Tiemiski was looking at starting the LO Radio station when we found out about Bush's freeze on the airways.
