The Uverse people stopped by my house yesterday to pitch the new system. Looks like Wyandotte is good-to-go for installation. They are coming back to install on Tuesday.

Hmmm ... I just switched after many years from At&t (old SBC) to COX. As far as internet speeds, cable still beats it.

Some posters have made reference to an unseen agreement between Fairview Park and AT&T officials requiring AT&T to install the unsightly VRAD boxes underground there.

Yesterday I spoke with a representative of AT&T, who confirmed this is not the case: Fairview Park will not have underground boxes.

The news doesn't diminish my distaste for the equipment around Lakewood but it should, at least, clear up the misconception that we were left in a worse position than other nearby communities.

I just dumped AT & T and went with Cox Cable for interenet and phone service.. ( I have Direct TV for television) My internet speed is definitley faster with Cox. If some one has this new service from A T & T then please let me know what the upload and down load speeds are... Thanks

We've had it for over a week and we like it.

We recently purchased an HDTV and getting HD service thru Dish Network would have required a 2nd dish hanging off of our house and Cox was A LOT more expensive.

The installation was interesting -- U-Verse can run off of CAT-5 Ethernet cable or traditional coax cable. CAT-5 is the preferred option. Insist on having them pull new CAT-5 cabling for you rather than using the existing coax.

The picture quality is better than Dish and better than Cox, there's even a way to remotely program my DVR thru a web portal - cool. The Internet speed seems a bit faster, I'm sure it's not as fast as cable though.

Overall, we're happy with it.

In addition, Big Ten Network has national distribution agreements with DirectTV and the new AT&T U-verseSM service, as well as a major regional agreement with Buckeye Cable.
