Return of the locusts

Post by Shawn Juris »

Is that the 17 year locust that I'm hearing? I believe that I saw one on the sidewalk the other day.

You are hearing locusts (cicadas), but I don't think this is the 17-year outbreak.

You probably will see some, you certainly hear them, and this is also a great time of year for crickets!

No. Like DL said they are cicadas. They are not locust. Noisy. Ugly too. They don't have a mouth so they don't bite. Locust look like grasshoppers.

I noticed a ton of grasshoppers in my garden just recently.
