Let's say that Jim now probably knows A GREAT DEAL about each of us who are interested in the mayoral outcome.

I know no more about you that what you have been willing to share on this website. There are no secret places to count anything, compile anything, download anything. This site is not about that, it is about ALL OF US learning as much as we can about our city, our neighbors, and businesses.

You have no idea how serious I am about this NOT being big brother.

The citizens and participants, have trust all of us with real valued. Their good name, and time. This is not taken lightly by myself or anyone involved in this project.

See for yourself, meetings are open, project always looking for volunteers.

We are starting with a fresh question. They will change daily off the front page. A good way to keep track of what we are thinking about.

Fun, serious, political, maybe not.

Look for the Oracle to appear soon to cover politics, LO style!

Are you going to at least fix the poll so there's a confirmation of voting?

I do know that from a usability perspective, it's not a good experience if you don't acknowledge a users action. I think that's the biggest problem with the way it's setup now.

And yes, I know what I'm talking about since web usability is a huge part of my real job, I'm not usually a moron. :)

Bryan--- The INSIDERS have to count the votes, first. Then we'll tell you who wins.

Never a moron.

Yes, it will give a response and a screen thst refreshes to show you the count.

I agree maybe we could get some of your time, and experience on the next version. We have started this update which will be major.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hey Jim, (and all)

Don't misunderstand me. I was having fun. It was simply FROM THE TONE of YOUR OWN postings that it sounded a lot to me as if you knew our deep dark voting identities. How else might you know that some people may have cast multiple ballots?

For the record, I cast just one vote like a good boy.

It also sounds as if on Monday, by having to put our names on the line, as if the LO could know the way we voted too.

Perhaps you ought to clarify this. Will posting our names enable you, or anyone, ever to identify the person with the vote cast?

Jim, I made a simple suggestion that would enable people to decide whether or not to push the submit button. No more, no less.

Actually Bob is in the computer networking business, I just hang out there.

There is no record, no line in a database, that says this address, at this time, voted for this person.

Jim O'Bryan wrote: When we get closer to elections we will ask for registered voters only.
Why?

I can see why many argue that you should be a citizen to vote in any US election, but I fail to see that as a condition to vote in a LO Straw Poll :(

As a renter I paid RITA; I pay city income tax, and I pay property tax, on time. Surely that would qualify me to cast a vote in a LO Straw Poll :?: :)
