Natural Gas prices

Post by Stephen Eisel »

Natural gas prices (clicky)
Prices could fall dramatically in the coming months, said Andrew Weissman, energy analyst and chairman of Energy Ventures Group, Washington. "I think the market is underestimating the extent to which prices could fall."

Weissman said there is a chance that the nation could see a glut of gas in the fall -- billions of cubic feet of extra gas -- holding down prices at least until Thanksgiving.

This happened last year, too. My "budget" amount went way up, half way through the winter it got cut to 1/3 of the original and I ended the year with a surplus on my bill. Yet, they start this year off doubling my budget again. I expect another significant cut down the line once more, especially if the winter is as mild as it was last year. Some huge snow fall numbers late in the game aside, it wasn't a bad winter.

BP says the region is teeming with enough natural gas and heavy crude oil to keep production going for another 50 years.

Thanksgiving ? Two cooler weeks and a potential snowstorm. I'd be excited if he had said Valentines Day !
