Did I miss something or is there an ordinance in Lkwd, that does not allow businesses to be open 24 hours, or does Walgreens and IHOP close on their own?

We have Lkwd people still going to Kamm's Walgreens due to ours not being open 24 hrs. Seems the money should stay in our city when it can, in my humble opinion.

Asking for several people.

I have wondered the same thing. Giant Eagle also used to be open 24 hours, but they are no longer.

FWIW, there is a 24 hr Walgreen's on 117th.

Giant Eagle stopped being open 24 hrs shortly after TOPS announced they were closing. Since they no longer had the competition to keep up with, there was no financial incentive to stay open, I guess.

Since I'm closer to the 117th Walgreens, I wondered when they stopped being open all night. I forgot about the new on on Madison.

Just an FYI - The Walgreens on W 117th & Detroit is located inside Lakewood city limits. AND they are open 24 hours....although there were a couple weekends recently the pharmacy only closed overnight due to vacation schedules.

iHop has to apply for a variance to be open 24 hrs. They did, at one point, but withdrew the request. There were a lot of neighbors ready to ask that they not be allowed to do that.

The Walgreen's on 117th is not located by as many residences as is the 150th. I would guess that if they want to be open 24/7 they'd have to apply for a variance.

I would prefer that the 150th Walgreen's not stay open 24/7, but I think the decision is heavily influenced by the neighbors of the business.
