Housing

I saw similar entrepreneurship in front of four suiters on Clifton and on Lake Avenue in front of an apartment building.

ALL of the concerns about safety, quality of life, schools, housing appreciation and development emanate from a problem with housing.

Police levies, expanding Lakewood's welfare department, safety committees, block watch committees, graffiti removal squads, volunteer park clean up committees and peoples action committees for the holding of hands while we get in touch with our feelings committees will accomplish nothing until the City deals with HOUSING.

If the City enacts and follows through with a housing program all the rest is unnecessary.

I used to sell lemonade on the street, but I think I was eight. My mom made me pay her back for my little enterprise, an early way of learning about capitalization.

I hate to play parent here but, is that DQ at lauderdale and detroit? How old is she? And isn't she right next to the street? Where's her parent(s)?

ah yes, the usual African-American = Ghetto routine.

So if this girl was doing this in front of a house on a side street, would this still be an issue?

My mother still has a picture on her bulletin board of me and my little brother, Scott, with our lemonade stand, circa 1964, in front of the "Manor house" in Clifton Park.....way north of the Williams-Sonoma line. Both of us were pretty much caucasian.

Wonder from whence comes the assumption that the merchant is a section 8 resident? Hmmm. Oh, I remember, ALL minorities in Lakewood are section 8 residents and there are no low life/trailer trash whites that take advantage of that program, Right?!

Joe

Here is the sad story it looks like it was marked down to $.050.

The could have cleaned up Detroit like the YMCA did for two days.
