Artists Nest In Birdtown.

A story about artists moving in Birdtown and studios in Lake Erie Screw.

I would hope the city would enlarge the "arts districts" being looked at declare the entire city an art district.

This story should be a great boost to the effort, Birdtown and all of Madison Avenue.

That was an interesting article. I had no idea that was going on there. It would make for an interesting LO article (or set of articles) profiling some of the artists along with pics and so on.

This is one of the reasons why I fear small Art Districts when the truth is the entire city is an Art District. I have three award winning artists, on my side street. On Summit, Westwood, Morrison, at least 6 designers. 42 bands with at least two CDs for sale, three music studios.

LO with the newly formed "Lakewood Is Art" will try to count every artist in Lakewood this summer. We could use you help.

I agree it was a wonderful story on a little enclave of artists here that few knew about. An even bigger part of that story that I think would make for a great LO story is the revival of the former Lake Erie Screw complex.

Many took that huge chunk of industrial buildings and land for dead once Lake Erie Screw closed down. The new owners/managers have done a fantastic job with the help of the city bringing jobs back to that site. An inside source tells me that the complex is now 80 percent occupied.
