Post by Rhonda loje »

Hi Everyone,

I thought some of you may be interested. There is a web site to sign in you photos...you can find it by going to the Cleveland Botanical Garden website under Flower Show Competetion and the Photography entries.

It would be great to see your work out there! (Hint, Hint...Ivor!).

If you any questions...email me.

Presented in conjunction with Cleveland Botanical Garden Flower Show, the Photography Show, held from May 4 to June 10, 2007, features the work of Northeast Ohio's finest nature photographers.

A juried exhibition with entries ranging from representational imagery of gardens and landscapes to flora and fauna to abstractions and digital breakthroughs, the show is held in the Garden's Guren Gallery. The Photography Show is a great way for visitors to get ready f or all the excitement of Cleveland Botanical Garden Flower Show (held over Memorial Day weekend, May 24 through May 28) and a must-see, stand-alone exhibit for anyone who loves gardens, flowers, and great nature photography.

The Photography Show opens to the public with a special Preview Party on Thursday, May 3 from 6 – 8 pm.

All classes of competition are open to the general public, including professional photographers.

In keeping with the 2007 Flower Show's theme of "Rhythm & Hues," each class takes its name from appropriate and evocative musical groups, including:

The Rolling Stones:photographs of gardens or landscapes that include stones or stonework

The Four Tops:photographs of plant material viewed from a high vantage point

Red Hot Chili Peppers:photographs that include identifiable fruits and/or vegetables

The Who:zoom or macro views of plant material

Grateful Dead: photographs of environmental destruction with the promise of hope for the future

The Fifth Dimension:photographs of extremely manipulated images of nature
