The library's a great place, but there's no coffee and I doubt that Pepto, my beautiful pink bowling ball, would be a welcomed visitor...

Can we get greasy cheeseburgers, crinkle-cut fries, and a chocolate shake at the library?

Gary

Those items are not available at LPL......And although I had pushed hard for a "demo kitchen" in the addition, it was unfortunately not to be. So, your food consumption will have to occur elsewhere.

Chef Geoff,

No demo kitchen in the new library? You must be heartbroken.

In the schools where I taught, "NO FOOD IN THE LIBRARY" was a hard-and-fast, no-exceptions rule.

So obviously, at the end of each day, a wide variety of food residue could be seen all around the facilities. From gum under the tables, to candy wrappers in flowerpots, to crushed pop cans and a mine field of crumbs, students were unbelievably savvy, sneaking food into libraries.

A particular mystery to me, was why students would hide candy wrappers behind books on the shelves. A person could have developed a very good vintage candy wrapper collection from the crumbled balls found behind those books.

Happy soon-to-be-birthday Ivor!

I have trouble with next Thursday too, as I am scheduled to speak at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor.

Those events usually run two or more hours.

I was really looking forward to seeing everyone. Hopefully we'll have another social time before long.

Two questions: 1-Are these meet-and-greets just for Observer writers and editorial staff?

2-Have fisticuffs ever broken out during any of these meetings?

This one is meant for writers, editorial staff, advisory board, and people who would like to write. But all of these meetings are open to all. We are just trying to define the direction of the party.

Actually the get togethers are very cordial.

Stop by.

Should I bring the brass knuckles and handcuffs per usual?

Am I right about this? The meeting has been changed from Thursday to Wednesday, Feb. 21st at Bela Dubby, 7 pm, right?

Correct, the meeting for writers, editors, columnists, and advisory board, and those that want to write.

Others can stop by, but this will be talking about what is going on, and a thanks. We will also be talking about where all of this is headed, as we are about to drastically overhaul many aspects of this project as we reinvest.

2007 will see the project hit full stride I believe.

Thanks to all.

DL

Thanks for getting the word out and the hard work today.

I would encourage potential writers to stop in.
