World Famous Chef Kicks It With LO Illustrator

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Anthony Bordain, from the Travel Channel's "Anthony Bourdain's No Reservation Needed" will meet with Lakewood Observer illustrators Gary and Laura Dumm.

In today's Plain Dealer

"The Ramones fan will walk through the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum with drummer Marky Ramone. He'll sample kielbasa at the Sausage Shoppe on the city's southwest side, meet Gary Dumm, who illustrates Harvey Pekar comic books, and stop at Zubal Books, the landmark bookstore on West 25th Street."

How cool is that. I just love his show. Everywhere he goes he makes look so full of life, how nice that Cleveland will have the chance to shine too.

No.

Anthony Bourdain is often referred to as the chef's chef. A true underground cult hero that owns a place in New York and was discovered and placed under contract at the Travel Channel before the Cooking Channel started.

His shtick is traveling the world trying all sorts of wild weird dishes of that culture. The show that will always stick in my mind is when he was back in New York with his homies, they meet up late at night after everything closes for clear broth and bone marrow. Twenty of the top chef of New York siting around a large table sucking marrow out of bones. Seemed stranger than eating snakes in India to me.

Good show on the Travel Channel.

From the Plain Dealer and Sarah Crump

No mention of La Pita Express. I know Gary Dumm, Harvey Pekar were filmed at Tommy's and Harvey' home. I hope that Lakewoodite Gary Thomas' Ohio City Pasta shows up while they are at the Westside Market.
