Any word on what's going to open to compliment all those fancy new digs? A couple blocks of new condos must bring some similar retail and businesses along or else Peppers, 5 O'Clock and Maria's better get their running shoes on.

The 5 o'clock and Maria's have changed with time and seem to be somewhat resilient to what you mention. But Peppers might be another story. they are completely tired of their neighbors, and are looking forward to the completion of Rockport.

You also have some others solid businesses there, City Dweller, diverse Universe, and The Shore. But more would be much better, of that there is no doubt.

Who knows if it will ever be completed. For very obvious reasons, they are not selling very many units very fast.

I think those early drawings of Rockport's future showing the Crocker Park-esque shops were just the idea of the artist. I doubt there was any guarantee made in the sale agreements that certain businesses would open if you purchased a unit. I am very suspicious of the first unit that was sold for over $400,000--recently I noticed they were giving tours of the unit.

I know there was a large building in Cleveland that was renovated a couple years ago. The idea was for it to be expensive apartments or condos. They didn't get enough interest, so they turned it into low income housing instead. Maybe most of Rockport will be vacant for many years and then go Section 8?

What is that new structure near Rockport that has been built quickly on Detroit? Is that part of Cleveland Clinic and/or Lakewood Hospital? Will this be the new teen center for handing out condoms to your kids?

As of yet I am not willing to go into the reasons for the slow buildout, wanting to stay positive. But while Forest City has slowed progress, I see in today's paper they are promising other cities millions in housing similar.

That is a building from the Clinic/Lakewood Hospital that will house doctors and outpatient work that does not need to be done in a hospital.

It shows what can be done with good business decisions, and businesses that believe in Lakewood.

Forest City just lost their bid for the Pittsburgh casino, so maybe they will now allocate more resources to Lakewood. (trying to be positive). Although, I think they are pretty busy with the $1 billion project in New York City though for the new stadium
