ACCLAIMED MYSTERY AUTHOR TO SPEAK IN LAKEWOOD

LAKEWOOD, November 3, 2006 - Katherine Hall Page, award-winning author of mysteries featuring caterer and amateur sleuth Faith Fairchild, will speak in Lakewood on November 17 at the Beck Center for the Performing Arts, 17801 Detroit Ave.

The Body in the Ivy, Page’s sixteenth novel was just published on October 31. The main character, Faith Fairchild, is a New England caterer with a penchant for solving mysteries. Page’s first novel, The Body in the Belfry, won the prestigious Agatha Award for best first mystery in 1991.

Page’s novels include recipes from Faith Fairchild’s catering business and from Page’s own kitchen. A reception following her talk will feature some of these recipes, prepared by Lakewood’s Two Peas in a Pod catering.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and Ms. Page will speak at 7:00 p.m., with the reception immediately following.

Tickets for this event are $35 and can be purchased at the Lakewood Public Library’s Main and Madison branches (cash and checks only). Tickets may be ordered by Visa and MasterCard through the Beck Center at the box office or by calling 216.521.2540. Tickets are also available at Borders stores throughout Greater Cleveland.

Book clubs who purchase nine tickets will receive an additional ticket at no charge. Book club purchases can be made by calling the library directly at 216.226.8275, ext. 102.

Funds raised through this event benefit the Lakewood Public Library Foundation, which raises funds to support the Lakewood Public Library, ensuring that the library’s patrons have access to learning and knowledge through both traditional and electronic sources.

This was an imaginative event. The author was warm and entertaining and the food delicious!

We sampled two items each and both were as flavorful as they were beautiful.

I agree. This was the best event of this type that I think I've been to. The author was great - even said she would come back when the new addition to the library opened.

The committee that put it together did a great job. It was well attended.
