LHS has a number of vocational programs....from culinary (Ranger catering) to auto mechanics, to carpentry.....Probably more, and varied, but it's definitely part of LHS' program.

to explain more on what Jeff's saying...

LHS has the West Shore Career Technical school... which offers two year programs (3 periods a day).

Culinary, Career path to teaching, auto mechanics, business management and a few business classes, interactive media (graphich design) electronics, networking/CISCO, nursing program... I can't remember any more.

When you finish the two year program you get a "career passport"...it's actually very respected by employers...

they do a good job with getting students into the real world and working with kids, or company's, or cars, or whatever the case may be.

Oh, and it is the only vocational school around here, so you get to have kids from River, Bay, Westlake...etc. in your classes.

I remember last year in my interactive media class I had 2 from Bay and 1 from River in there...they'd get a ride by school bus to our school every day

Ivor

Actually, Aly did the career paths to teaching last year. It was a fantastic experience...mentoring with current teachers, essentially student teaching. Very good program.
