Jim:
Thanks so much to you and Deb for slugging out another grand issue of the Lakewood Observer and for being so generous in your coverage of library events and the Magic in the Wood event, peeling through Ivor's terrific photographs to capture the essence of Lakewood United.
I glanced through all the issues tonight with great satisfaction for the coverage of both the library and life in Lakewood. You have built quite a record.
Your production work is long, lonely and thankless, not to mention all the other operational responsibilties. Then like clockwork another issue of the Lakewood Observer appears.
We know it takes a village to write a paper.
But it takes a Bear with the beefheart of a lover to produce one.
Please know your good work is not taken for granted.
We are all in your debt with warmest gratitude.

Thanks for the kind words. All I do is supply blank pages, it is up to everyone else to fill them. We have a nice selection already for the next issue, and I am sure more over the next two weeks will come in. It would seem that the Lakewood Observer Project has become part of the Lakewood Fabric, and for everyone involved I want to say, you are appreciated, and many thanks. This issue you came up big as did the Library, Mike Deneen, Rhonda Loje, Ivor, The Gallery Girls(who got bumped), and a bunch of others.
When we deliver the paper, as you know, the words of kindness and support are overwhelming. People stopping me, and you and others to talk about articles from months ago, suggesting ideas.
As you have made some of the meetings with other cities trying to start a community paper. They always say, "I am not sure we have the energy level, nor the number of high quality writers to contribute. How do you do it?" The answer is always the same. "We are lucky that Lakewood is filled with engage residents that love the city and want to take part in writing history."
Finally my friend, I could not have done it without your help, guidance, and words both on paper and encouragement.
Next issue we are starting two new projects to give more back to the community and those that share stories, photos and illustrations with us. Stay tuned, this will be fun.
