Thanks for the link. It is and has been tough, but respect goes miles.
Even though the Lakewood Observer can be seen as a non-profit community based paper that is run, writen, produced souly by Lakewoodite for Lakewoodites, some companies do not want it around.
Caribou has said no, to any paper except the Scene, Rosati's no papers, and Tops wants $176.00 a month to put them there.
There are many new little papers and many that come and go. Gannet being on of the big five, would have no reason to want anyone outside the big 5 getting traction. We were part of Gannet for a short time, seemed like a great idea at the time, but quality and them want input drove us away from the deal.
But Gannet who are into for the profit, has to see the upstarts as ad grabbers and freeloaders in the boxes they spent a ton on.

Caribou takes Scene? I could've sworn I've never seen a copy at the one on Detroit.

Scene not FreeTimes, at least that is what we were told.

Interesting. The only Caribou location I've seen Scene and/or Free Times at is the Tower City location.
