Lakewood shopping - drapes and flameless candles
Hi, does anyone know of a place in or near Lakewood that sells drapes? I only need one pair, normal length (84"?), and want something that will block out ALL light. A lot of places I looked at online sell lacy feminine drapes that let a lot of light get through. Someone told me you have to go to Target to get stuff like that. I want drapes instead of blinds because there is already a curtain rod set up for drapes, and I am not good at installing blinds.
Also, does any place in or near Lakewood sell flameless candles? These are the kind that run on batteries with LED bulbs, I believe. I do not want solar candles.
Thanks.
Doug

For the candles.
I would check out Pat Catan's or Jo-Ann Fabrics.
As for the drapes.
Check out Target or Wal-Mart.
Hope this helps.

Doug,
There are a couple of small seamstress shops in Lakewood that might be able to help you. I picked-up a couple of curtains from a little shop next to the St. Clement credit union on Madison... for next-to-nothing. Maybe she can help you.
The owner's name is Carmen. She'd give you the shirt off her back.
Hope this is helpful.

Does Carmen do tailoring types of jobs?
I need a new zipper in a leather jacket & I need to have a long jacket made short. Is that where they need to go?
As far as the candles go, they can be tough to find out of season, but the answers provided have been spot on.
It's difficult to find the candle light bulbs that really flicker, but there is/was a little shop in Rocky River on Smith Ct. (I think) that had them.
I'd also visit Hinkley Lighting and ask them where to look. That's a great resource.
The drapes you're looking for may be easier to find if you ask for "black-out" curtains (or drapes).

Try aluminum foil on the windowpanes. Leave a few empty sudafed bottles scattered around the front porch.

Thanks for the tips, although I do not live in Euclid.

I went to Walgreens, but they said I had to show photo id and could only buy one box a day. ):
Maybe when the new Walgreens opens across from the beautiful Sherwin Williams, I will try to get more there when the employees are still green. Stan was right, the concrete blocks are looking beautiful...wish I had a camera with me when I went by tonight.
Or maybe I can get a natural alternative at Trader Joe's.
