I have added a new gallery on the Lakewood Observer Photo Blogs and the news is up to date, for the most part. I had a nice chat with Athletic Director Dan Gerome in the Press Box at the field and he is technically the former Athletic Director now. Look for all the details in the Observer next time perhaps.
I also have news from the Baseball team. With this horrible weather this week, the Districts game at Tri-C was cancelled on Monday and moved to Tuesday, and was cancelled on Tuesday and was moved to Wednesday. Wednesday came around and was a gorgeous day, but puddles and standing water on the Tri-C field forced the game to be postponed until tomorrow. If we don't hear "Play Ball!" tomorrow at Tri-C, the game will be moved to saturday night here in Lakewood.
Other news, LHS Softball was postponed at CSU. At the Districts Track Meet, St.Edwards pole vaulter Mark Schaffer broke the Districts record for the biggest height cleared. The record was at 14', but by the time Mark ended it became 15'. It was amazing to watch, and he did try for 15' 3", but nicked the pole with his leg every time he launched over it! SO CLOSE!
Hope you guys enjoy the pictures, and there should be lots of news after friday's District Finals for track.
