A Poll Just for the Fun of It.

Post by Mark Crnolatas »

OK. Here's a poll for the "lighter side" of the members here. NON-POLITICAL!

Simple questions:
1) What make and model of wrist watch do you own ? If you have many, please list your top 2 favorites. Link to it on the web if you can find one would be great too. If your watch is a 20,000 or a 2 dollar one, it doesn't matter.

2) What sneaker do you currantly "love" if any. Make and model please, ie: Nike Air Max 95.

That's it. 2 questions for now. I'm working on a rather wierd but fun angle for a story for the L.O. We'll see how it pulls together or whatever.

Btw, my favorite watch I have (and I have a bunch) is a Timex Data Link (I'm a geek when it comes to stuff like that) .
My fav pair of sneakers ARE a pair of Air Max 95's I got on ebay, new in box.

1) No watch at all. Had a bunch of pocket watches but they continually die on me. Now the world is my watch (meaning, I hope there is a clock near by).

2) Vans. Gimme the Vans.

I wonder if watches are being worn less because of cell phones.

I check the time on my cell and haven't worn a watch in years.

I haven't worn a watch in many years. Yes, now the cell phone acts as a watch, but I'm also surrounded by clocks.

My favorite brand of athletic shoe is New Balance, but I spent decades in Converse All-Stars, both low & high top. Trying to convince my mom to buy me high tops when I was 10 wasn't easy.

1) I only wear an old Timex Twist-o-Flex that was my Grandfather's then my Uncle's and only when I am at a speaking engagment. Even that is more for luck than time.

2) New Balance, but I got them when I was getting paid from New Balance. Part of the deal, but they have held up nicely.

a little punky

Post by Michele Billow »

My favorite watch is the Nixon shown below. Red is my favorite color and it's punky yet classy, IMHO. I like to wear it with my black Center Lo Re-issue PF-Flyers. I wear my Swiss army watch when I wear my brown leather Center Lo's. Both the Nixon watch and PF-Flyers are uncommon, like me :)

By producing all their signage for the stores. I could get product pretty much at will when near a rep. That was only during the discussion of each store layout. The trick was to not wear New balances to the meetings. they would always inist on sending a pair.

Watch:
Most of my watches have suffered horrible and violent deaths. When I need to wear a watch, I usually pick pick up the chapes Timex I can find.
My favorite was a Bullova quartz Acutron. Smashed two cyrstal off it, then got stollen in a mugging near Little Italy. Cost me six weeks on a liquid diet. Got another just like it. Smashed the crystal once, then the hands wouldn't stay on. Final death came by praying mantis caught and thrown with left hand. The watch followed it. I still have the corpse somewhere.
I got a Swiss Army Watch for Christmas. I like it a lot. Just a simple dial with a hand, and numbers for the days of the month. I'm trying to take care of it.
Watches should be simple. If I have to program it, it takes more effort than it saves. Watches should tell a person the time, not take it from them.

New Balance 381s (Black, from Cerny's) are for me. They are discreet enough to make they transition from shop to office, and I can spend 8 hours in them on a hard floor. I wear the Red Wings (shop) and Florshiems (office) only when necessary.
