Just wanted to remind everyone that the Lakewood Book Club will be meeting on the first Monday of March at 4 PM at Bela Dubby to discuss "Reading Lolita in Tehran"

This is an open and informal discussion group - no reservations required  !! We look forward to seeing some new faces at our next meeting :)

Peace,

I think we said Saturday. Typo, or did I miss something? :)

How is everyone doing with the book?

Erin, Lorri, and Charyn-- Saturday it is---

I've been reading the book and I'm hooked! Great selection and I think it will be the touchstone for lots of discussion.

Count me in for a book club when it comes to reading non-fiction. (I have a background in Architecture and History. I love Bios, too.)
Thursdays or Saturdays work for me. :D
P.S. Can we meet somewhere that I can take a circulator to get to and back???

Hey All,
I can't attend tomorrow's meeting, as I mentioned. But I read the book anyway and thought it was really terrific. I'll miss hearing the discussion. Oh, well--keep me informed for next month!

I'm not sure if the book club is meeting today, but Don and I won't be able to make it.

My assumption is the next meeting is the first Saturday of May and could someone post the book that you plan to read? Thanks

Book Club

It has been a while since I checked out the Observer website and saw that a book club was started. Is it still happening? I didn't see anything on the Events Calendar. Let me know what you are currently reading and when you are meeting to discuss. I have been interested in joining a book club since I moved to Lakewood two years ago!

Cyndie---The Book Club is going to continue! As with any new venture there have been a couple of hiccups. Those who initially expressed interest and attended meetings have been recontacted and are eager to continue.
The first Saturday of the month at 4:00 PM at Bella Dubby will continue to be the meeting time. There is no book for this month.
A contact point will be established on the Groups section of the home page.

Erin White deserves mucho kudos for starting it and it will be ongoing.

Please feel free to contact me for future info.

Deckies---

The Lakewood Observer Book Club will meet this Saturday, May 8, at 4:00 PM at Bella Dubby 13321 Madison Avenue.

We had an initial good start and then had a slight interuption so let's see where we want to take this!

Hope to see anybody who likes to read there!

Couldn't make the meeting. Did you decide which book to read this month?
