Cute Library Story

Yesterday I had the pleasure of stopping into Lakewood Public Library and was walking
around checking out some rooms for a series of up coming meetings and sessions. I ran
into an old friend near the area where the book sale happens.

One of the things going on is that most of the books are now scanned in and "sought after"
books with value are placed on ebay and other sites, and this has been great at raising
more money for the Library. One of the workers was talking excitedly how they had sold one
book for $50, and another for $90! They then said $90 for a cookbook is a record, and they
get a lot of cookbooks. As my wife has a massive collection of cookbooks dating back to the
1800s I had to turn and ask which cookbook was it.

They turned and said, they had never heard of it or really read it but it was called...

"The Anarchist Cookbook." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Anarchist_Cookbook

I had to laugh, and explained to them that it was a book on bomb making and anarchy.
There was a slight look of horror on their faces then one smiled and said, "Well we got
$90 for it!"

Just another way the library works to stay financially on top.
