Harding 8th. Grade Girls Basketball

What an impressive group of young ladies the Harding 8th. grade basketball team is! Outstanding athletes (18-1 record, championship) and a 3.6+ GPA! Poised, polite, dignified...a class group. Congrats to Coach Harper too!

These young ladies and their coach had another excellent season. They will be fun to watch as they move on. Great job.
As a parent of a 7th grade boys team member, I have developed new respect for all of the student athlete's and their coaches that competed and completed the season. 3-1/2 months of practices and games, 5 days a week, early in the morning and late in the day (even during the holiday break). Late night homework and many sacrifices, just to play the game. I salute them all.

These girls are real athletes. Keep an eye on them when they get to the high school next year.
The academic piece is a great thing. We know that kids that are involved in extra-curriculars, be it athletics, band, etc. do better academically. That is the true value for all the kids involved. It was the main factor in the resolution for Continuous Improvement of Lakewood Athletic Department that the Board passed last June.
