It seems the Republicans in the Ohio Senate are working overtime to offer a retroactive tax cut to the owners of the Avon Stadium:

This is just a minor example of the corruption of the legislative process. Well connected people build a business, falsify tax statements to secure a tax exemption and when they are discovered they seek retroactive changes in the law to make it all legal.

This type of thing can't be stopped. The next best thing is to get a piece of the action ourselves. I've emailed Senator Skindell asking him to allow the City of Lakewood to gain tax exempt status for its parking lots:

SD23@maild.sen.state.oh.us

I would like the change to be made retroactive for 30 years. The City would be elligible for a large refund.

Perhaps it would help if City officials began falsifying tax statements to make it an emergency in need of immediate action by the Senate to make it all legal.
