I never would have imagined we would be without snow in mid-February!!!

Given the weather forecast, Kauffman Park Friends are preparing to host a Scavenger Hunt at this Sunday's event.

Participants will have a chance at many great prizes from local businesses, including a classic Flexible Flyer Steel Saucer (for sledding when the snow returns) from Lakewood Hardware; gifts from Green Smart Gifts; games from The Paisley Monkey; admission to one of Rozi's great wine tasting events (21 and over); gift cards from Geiger's, Lion & Blue, Melt Bar & Grilled, Deagen's Kitchen, Five Guys, The Souper Market, Domino's Pizza, Taco Bell, Roman Fountain Pizza; products and services from Revelations & Forbici Salons.

So come on down and join us this Sunday, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Arthur Avenue Extension)

Hot cocoa will be served by Lakewoood's own, The Root Cafe.

Rain of shine, snow or mud.

Hope to see you there!

Hey there's no snow but there's no rain either. It's time to head down to Kauffman Park for the scavenger hunt. If you're not doing anything, come on out. Great prizes from lots of Lakewood businesses and a chance to move around a little, get to know all the things there are to do at Kauffman Park and then get warm by the fire and drink hot chocolate.

It's from 2 to 4, come now or anytime before 4.

See you there.

Congrats to Meg Ostrowski and the entire committee of Kauffman Park Friends!

What a great way to spend a couple of hours on a dreary Sunday afternoon. My kids had fun (nice & muddy) and it was great to see so many people from the neighborhood. I loved the scavenger hunt and learning so much about the park. We won gift cards from Domino's, Souper Market, and Lion and Blue (Emma went straight to Lion and Blue--her favorite store in Lakewood). We hope there will be more events in Kauffman Park. It really is a great place to hang out with neighbors and friends.

Thanks!!

Thank you to the Friends of Kauffman Park (and sponsors) for hosting an afternoon of cold weather fun in the park. Families having safe, “clean,” fun in Lakewood is always a wonderful sight to see!

KPF was overwhelmed by the turn out yesterday. We had nearly a hundred visitors to the park, including our four legged friends!

It was a great time, and hopefully just the beginning of what is possible when we come together as a community.

There are many to thank for this successful event and details to share...look for more in tomorrow's print edition of The Lakewood Observer.
