a few thoughts on our first education coffee session

It was great to sit and talk with Stan and Nadal this morning. We were joined by Seth, a recent LHS alumn and current Ohio University student, to discuss issues surrounding learning. Stan asked tons of great questions and provided a good deal of insight into what it means to be a life-long learner. Nadal's input was great. He's so keenly aware of the local cultural and political contexts which was a huge contribution to our discussion. Seth talked about his time at LHS, the relevance of what he learned there, and the significant degree to which his university experience occurs online.
As we continue to have this discussion in our community, I can only hope that it continues in the excellent exchange of ideas that we had today. I will be posting a few thoughts that were inspired from today's session over on my blog.
They'll be up later today at teacherstalkingshop.blogspot.com.
