Kasich vs Fitzgerald: What's The Score?

Kasich stumbled a bit with his cabinet picks, will have a tough time "creating " jobs since he is at the mercy of the national economy and will create a political firestorm if tries to reform Ohio' labor laws, a key component of his economic policy.
Fitgerald finessed the bruhaha over the County Council secret meetings and has struck the right tone in his public announcements, has the support of the major media outlets and has given hope for a less corrupt County with his appointment of the County's first inpsector general:

The less obivious but more important point is that he has successfully wrested control of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party from Bill Mason.
His efforts to force County employees to give up elected office and to surrender their Democratic Party Committe memberships gives him a chance to put his people in place and effectively emasculate Bill Mason. How things change in just one year:

The beauty of the ban on elected office for County employees is that while it cut the legs out from under Fitgeralds competition for leadership in the Democratic Party the action was reported and seen as "reform"
This man is more clever than people realize.
Kasich 0, Fitgerald 1
