Money to burn?

In these difficult economic times when most, (if not all) cities are facing some degree of budgetary crises, and are implementing measures to conserve, cut waste and otherwise preserve their financial integrity, it's comforting to know that the city of Lakewood presumbably has money to burn.
The "snowflake" holiday lights attached to utility poles that are peppered along Madison and Detroit Avenues are indeed quaint and aesthetically pleasing but the holidays are over, unless you were celebrating Russian Christmas, which ended last week.
It's time to move on... & save a few bucks to boot! Take down the lights or at least turn them off during the day.
Who's payin' the light bill anyway?
jus' wonderin'
