Very proud. I am very proud of those who chose to make a decision not determined by the conservative bully group and stand to vote on what is right. All the issues this country is facing that worrying about sexuality in 2010 is embarrassing. Maybe the others will grow up and grow some individuality.

"It is time to close this chapter in our history," President Obama said in a statement hailing the vote's passage. "It is time to recognize that sacrifice, valor and integrity are no more defined by sexual orientation than they are by race or gender, religion or creed."
I guarantee if one's child was rushed to the hospital in a life threatening illness and the top physician was ready to save the child's life, that a parent would stop and ask "um are you gay or straight?" Because it wouldn't matter. Because it doesn't matter, and Obama hit it on the head that sacrifice, valor and integrity have zero to do with sexual orientation.

In the meantime, they shot down the dream act, the one time payment of $250.00 to people on SS because of no COL for the third year while food prices are skyrocketing and voted for tax cuts for the wealthy while too many have lost their homes, their jobs and hope.
What a country.
