This is a continuation (maybe) of a discussion from elsewhere. It felt more appropriate to place it here than to continue to sidetrack the initial topic.
Any time you'd like to tell me what facts he has wrong or what facts he hasn't got at all, let me know...
(BTW: The one in the newspaper this past week, about Wilmington...I know about that and I've already done what I can to bring it to his attention so he can comment.)
The planned health care changes are forcing the children of 30,000 "low-wage" SEIU 1199 families OFF of health plans.

Still pinning your hopes on the government to make things better?
What is more ruinous to our country than robbing its people of motivation? Where's the motivation...the desperation...to find a new job when someone has 99+ weeks of unemployment to collect? Someone can get food stamps, welfare, housing, a government cell phone and as a result, they get to sit on their butt watching TV all day? Boil it all down, the government promotes and rewards laziness.
How many jobs have you had from a man/company making $40,000? If you want to help those without jobs, you must help those that create the jobs, from the small-businesses all the way up to the massive corporations.
There are 2 ways this administration needs to act.
100% of every dollar given to a person in charity goes into the economy as well. Who's talking about the Bush tax cuts??
How much does it cost the government to give away those dollars? There's much more overhead waste in the government than from a local charity (or, as Sharon seemed to be saying, donating already purchased goods).
Again, what of substance has Glenn said that was a flat-out lie? Can you cite me some examples? I would love to debate this if you can give me something to work with.
Still waiting on that lesson in nazism.

Sorry, quoting Glen Beck is akin to quoting Imus. Good showman with zero facts.

The current healthcare system, fortified by many giving in to lobbying dollars instead of what their constituents need, have killed as many Americans x 100 than Bin Ladin did.

- They need to change the tax structure so that companies stay/move here. We've got the 2nd highest federal corporate tax rate in the world.
- Its time they stop making all these regulatory and legal changes. How's a business suppose to operate when it doesn't know from one month to the next what's happening? GM had the hydrogen powered car and were prepared to go forward with it years ago. Why didn't they? They didn't know what future technology the government was going to support. GM could have retooled once. If the government went a different direction, they would be done as a company. As I recall, Obama ended support for the hydrogen fuel-cell car early on.

Jim O'Bryan wrote:Roy, I love your enthusiasm, but at some point you are going to have to understand that Rush and Beck, are shills nothing more, and they have zero credibility in economics, politics, religion, or anything within American life. While I defend their right to say what they say. It is ignorant to believe what has been proven to be nothing more than hyperbole and outright miss-truths again and again.
