Water Department - Great Job!

Hopefully you will never have to deal with the water department like I did today, but I sure was impressed. I had a landscaping company working on replacing my lawn and they didn't contact O.U.P.S. (Ohio Utilities Protection Service). They destroyed the water main shutoff in my lawn and water was oozing out of the ground, at first I thought it was oil, o well. :)

I contacted the city and within minutes someone was there to try to help, then 2 or 3 more trucks came in and started sucking the water out so they could shut it off.

Thankfully the damage was toward my house and not toward the street and they got the water leak stopped. They then hooked me up to my neighbors water and we both get free water until the line is fixed!

I had contacted Kevin Butler during the process to ask him how things work when this happens and he answered my call, did some research and called me right back.

I was very impressed with everyone's professionalism, work ethic and knowledge.

It was a great day to be a resident of Lakewood.

Ryan-- that's government at work for you. Too bad those tea baggers don't think government is important. Stan

I'm glad to hear that it worked out, ryan.

I have some laundary to get done tonight, can I drop it off to your place and use your water? Please have them folded nicely when I pick them up in the morning.

Thanks.
Corey

Of course your not talking about the private sector landscaping company who sucked at there job. ;-)

Excellent to hear the positive response from the Lakewood government though.

Ryan, the water isn't free, somebody has to pay for it. They commonly get that wrong at City Hall. Geez, I leave the country for a while and you start talking crazy!
