Tonight was the first of a couple public meetings to discuss bikes, and Lakewood and how
they work together. This was put on by the City of Lakewood and the Lakewood Planning
Department.

After a short introduction by Planning Director Nate Kelly, Dru Siley too over for the full
room to discuss what the purpose of the meetings were. After mentioning many overlooked
things like the longest round trip bike trip in Lakewood is only 5 miles, and that the
recent abandonment of Lakewood by RTA and their Circulators made the need to look at bikes
and where they go even more important.

After that the room was broken into groups to discuss various ideas. Also in attendance were
Tom Einhouse, Louis Moss from Walk and Roll, Councilman Tom Bullock, and others all
interested in bikes and riding, Matter of fact when asked how many people owned bikes
and how many ride bikes, everyone raised their hands. Hmmmmm
