Yesterday the Lakewood police were called and ended up checking out a work crew that was
fixing a roof on a house on Lauderdale. When the officer ask for identification he found
out that all six of the workers were illegal aliens. Five from Mexico, and 1 from Honduras.
None had visas or work permits.

The police picked them up and took them into custody and called Federal Immigration offices,
where they were told, they would do nothing, you might as well release them, which they did.

FWIW

That is part of why the "hail damage" roofing scam is such an awesome business model. Kind of mad I did not think of it myself.

Quote roof at 12,000$ err.. hail damage...

Spend 2000$ supplies.

Hire 6 undocumented workers for 10 bucks and hour that can knock a roof out in 1.5 days.

Bank profits.

Win. Win. Roofers from Aspen, Colorado make mad cash. Insurance companies get to raise everybody's homeowners insurance and make mad cash.
