Gary Rice stopped by, and forced me away from working
to take my first guitar lesson.

Gary, thank you for the time and everything you have done for me,
my family, The Lakewood Observer and this city.

Today was inspiring, and look forward to my next analog moment.

I would not think it to be an exaggeration to say that we covered probably several months of material in just one session, and that's unusual.

You absorbed all of it, as if you've already played for years.

Now all you have to do is put it all together and apply it.

One of these days, I hope to have the time to get back into giving regular private music lessons to the public.

Remember, all of you, that there already are some great private teachers out there right now here in Lakewood at several fine stores. Don't be concerned about starting up an instrument if you are older either. Some of the best students whom I've taught have been in their 40's, 50's, and even older. There are also countless easy how-to lessons on the internet as well.

As far as guitar goes, there are light gauge guitar strings available now that make life so simple. Jim was amazed to see that I have no finger callouses whatsoever, and I sometimes spend several hours a day practicing the guitar.

Why not dust off Grandpa's old guitar case (or trumpet, or sax or ?) and learn an instrument?

It's fun!

Back to the banjo...
