Drug Store Pricing

I have to receive vitamin B injections quite on a regular basis. I have been getting my prescriptions at Wahlgreens at Warren and Madison.

I brought in my prescription for B-12. The prescription was written incorrectly for only 1ML which only covers one day. Cost - $11.99 (it's not covered under the great Bush prescription drug program without a huge fight with the provider). I paid the money and went to get my injection. The Eliza Jennings at Home people gave me my injection and the nurse practioner wrote a new prescription for a months worth and told me to take it to Giant Eagle. It was $4.00.

When I called Wahlgreens they said Giant Eagle has a special program and they have one too, but it's $20.00 to sign up.

Ummm no. I then cancelled the automatic refills for my other prescriptions at Wahlgreens and will be going to Giant Eagle.

Some real geniuses in marketing savvy at work here boy.

Just got a call from from the head pharmacist, for the Cleveland area at Wahlgreen's.

Very nice and knowledgeable person but can't fix what's broken. He is refunding my money and apologized.

These kinds of things are beyond frustrating at all levels.

I had the same issue with Walgreens and that is why I don't get my various prescriptions from them. It's nice that they offer a discount but the cost of the discount card kind of nullifies the savings.
