After I got out of work i noticed the sound of a man speaking through a bullhorn or some amplification system.
I walked towards the sound. A crowd of people had gathered in front of the Cleveland Browns Stadium. Something about how Professional Sports Oligarchs keep making the tax payers build stadiums and arenas for them. Or something else.
The man speaking went on. something about not having the country his father left him, or something. Taxes on high incomes and corporations were much higher when I was born. and when my father was born. and when my grandfather was born. economic growth was greater during most of that span of time. upward mobility for the private sector working class was also much greater. what is the point of any of it.
The man went on to give chickenhawk politicians and lobbyists a free pass. Where was the tea party 7 years ago.
He said something about energy independence. Gee, that is an attractive idea. How is that achieved.
