given all the media hype, it's easy to see where his supporters confused the two.

Obama is actually the brown skinned, pro-war socialist that mandates everyone pay for private health insurance and passes that off as healthcare.

maybe because you used the wrong spelling of my name, but just to be safe, why don't you take me to church with you and introduce me formally.

Or you could come to mine, It's Pilgrim Saint Paul Lutheran Church on the corner of Detroit and Mannor Park. We have an early service at 8:30 that is more traditional, and then a contemporary service at 11:00am. I sometimes attend both, but usually just go to the 11:00am since I started singing with the praise band.

Say, aren't you just right next door at the Westerly? why not stop by? Or better yet, perhaps you could take your concerns for my spiritual growth up with my pastor, he does a service there a couple times a month.

Seriously Bret, congratulations on participating in your worship service. If you read my column about St.James, it was through a similar experience, participating in a guitar group over there, that brought real spiritual comfort to me at that time.

I have a column in the paper this week, about some of the present difficulties in mainstream religion; In that column, I discussed some of the contemporary worship experiences around here. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention the one going on at Bret's church.

Whaddya say Sharon? Maybe we really SHOULD pay Bret a visit, one of these days?

I'll as long as you and I can sing, maybe something from the mass of the angels? It's been a long time but I sure I remember.

Brett - I'll take you to my church, it's called the streets teaming with humanity. Why don't you and I go to St. Herman's, bring your old clothes, they're ever so grateful and we can have lunch with the homeless guys and the wonderful brothers that run that place.

Truth be told Gary, I've spent more time in church than just about anywhere else. Son and grandson of Methodist ministers, grew up in a parsonage, etc... my God is my life.

Actually, one of the forgotton victims in all of the recent troubles of the church is the music. Yes, the buildings are beautiful, but inside a lot of those buildings are some of the finest pipe organs around. I wonder if anything can be done to assure that some of those insturments can be saved and preserved, because they just don't make those like that anymore.

Sharon, sounds like I already attend your church, frequently. My family has always put in a lot of time helping the homeless. Including working with various shelters and initiatives over the years. I've not been down to St. Herman's, but will have to inquire about their service schedule and see if we can add it to the list that we try to support.

Sharon, Gary, if you want to warm up for a Sunday service, all you have to do is listen to 91.9FM (AirOne Radio) most of the songs we do in service can be heard there. A lot of Casting Crowns stuff, Third Day, etc. If you want, I'll make you a CD, that way, by the time you hit the pews, you'll be all warmed up and ready to go.

St. Herman's is a marvelous place. Go there and meet the brothers and meet the clientele. Good for them and even better for you.
