Don't forget about Lakewood resident filmmaker/Director Scott Ditzenberger and his film "Out of Place". The film has already won multiple awards in previous film festivals this year and it premiered last night at the CIFF.

Director Scott Ditzenberger captures the persistence of surfers who patiently wait for waves, brave storms and spend their off-hours building surfboards. The film applauds the surfers' zany energy and tries to answer the question of why many Northeast Ohioans stay even though they can't pursue their passions here.
Surfing footage, interviews and images of Cleveland's industrial underbelly are edited into a smooth narrative. Images of the lakefront are stunning. The bleakness of a beachside winterscape is so vivid, it gives you goosebumps.
