Since we are talking about "nitty gritty" and 501c3 stuff...I thought I would share mine. I do not have to file the long form for a tax return since I do not make that much, so it is just the postcard. But to share (since ya'll have helped me so much!!!)

Income:
Donations: 1717.15
Adoptions: 1430.00
Total : 3147.15

Outgoing:
Vet Bills for 2009: 6,130.26
Food : 600.00 (50 dollars monthly)
Supplies: 2000.00 (crates, pee-pee pads, collars leashes, food bowls etc etc)
Total: 8730.26

I have no salary and no paid employees. I use personal money to pay the bills and I have several dogs now that will require vet care.

I am still paying on the credit card and as of today in the checking account I have 73.14.

Don't forget April 3rd at The Furry Nation is the Spring Fling. Their 1 year anniversary, but a Chinese Raffle with proceeds going to All Dogs' Heaven. We will be there and again for those that want to meet me, talk with me, anything, I will be there. It is from 10-5 but I will be there early to set up and there late to take down. I look forward to it, and there will be more information coming.

I would like to thank everyone for their support and I look forward to 2010.

Thank you Missy for being so forthright!
That's what a non-profit should do to create community confidence and gain more volunteers to help in your cause.
I will be at your next event to help! You do great work!
Rhonda

Shawn,

Don't you think LA could give us the same information? If not why not? The latest glossy report for 2009 is just smoke a mirrors with no substance. Why can't we get the same information from LA that Missy just posted?

It would be nice to know what the LA salaries are for all 3 employees as a % to all their income.

Since the information came to light about the Girls & Boys Clubs salaries vs their income and they receive their dollars from the same source as LA.....don't you think LA should disclose that information to make sure that the dollars are going to the mission not the organization.

Or would you rather just poke Jimmy?

That is really productive isn't it..but I'm sure you find it fun! I do too sometimes....

But I think protecting our tax dollars are more important!

Please, if this get accountability at ALL civic groups, let him poke.

Missy

Sorry I have been slow with stopping by and collecting biscuit money. It is still at the
stores. Maybe we can get Rhonda to do it now that she is back.

I went to your site (http://www.alldogsheaven.org ) and donated $25. It's not much but hopefully others have done or will do the same. (hint - hint - hint) :)

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out you are over $5,500 in the hole for 2009 alone. Most of that is probably on the credit card, which the interest on that balance has to be killing you? If 300 people could donate a measly $20, that would take care of it...for now.

You probably already know this but if you are using your own personal money to pay the bills of the charity, you can deduct that from your taxes as a charitable contribution (assuming you itemize on Schedule A).

Charlie....Thank you so much. The kindness and generousity of your donation made my day. Thank you. Words cannot express how much it means to me.
