We have an abandoned infant from a medical building in Lakewood and are looking to get the picture of the child out to locate the family. You can call Chief Tim Malley at 216-529-6750 or the Officer in Charge at 216-529-6790.
Thanks
Chief Timothy J. Malley

OMG!!!! I hope they can find the parents, or at least a loving home.
Are we allowed to put this on Facebook or anything like that?

OMG, she's beautiful and looks very well cared for.
How heart breaking that someone had to walk away from this angel.

Update to case of abandoned infant.
Through publication of a photo of the infant abandoned on 12/23/09 at 14601 Detroit Ave. a tentative identification of the child has been made. The infants mother has been identified and the Lakewood Police Department has been in contact with her. The investigation into the surrounding circumstances of the abandonment of the child is ongoing and further interviews are pending. The child is currently in the custody and care of the Cuyahoga County Childrens and Family Services. Due to this being a case of possible Child Neglect and an ongoing investigation further identification or information is not available at this time.
Many thanks to all media outlets for your help in putting this story out and the eventual identification.

I must say--- throughout such a sad incident, Lakewood was represented in an exemplary fashion by the Police Chief. He portrayed the incident and any reverberations in such a way as to allow all involved parties to come to the fore and let the baby be safe and cared for.

Hmm - Let's see...a baby, born in dire circumstances, around December 25th...I think I've heard this story somewhere before. Perhaps they will name her Noelle.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
